On New Year's Eve
The night sky spreads slowly like a beast's hide
The wind from the savannah passes through my ears
The sound of hooves trembles
My motherland shivers in the fireworks in the distance
That's the sound of firecrackers
Here, there's only the moon
Hanging deep in the pupils of countless beasts
The giraffe whispers to the sky
The gaze of a leopard seems to penetrate through millennia
The running of antelopes stretches the vastness of the Serengeti Plain
They don't know about festivals, nor do they understand reunion
They only know that the rivers and new greenery ahead
Are the primitive longings of life
The fragrance of grass and trees in the wind and the wild body heat
I smell the steaming New Year's Eve dinner from my hometown

The Roar of the Serengeti
The sea of grass surges, waves unending,
Zebra stripes are like dancing flames, wild.
The galloping hooves shatter the stillness.
The king's fury blazes,
A lion's roar rips through the air.
The wildebeest herds surge like thunder,
Life collides, time races on.
A cheetah's form flashes across the sky like lightning,
An elephant's steps shake the soul.
The shadow of the hyena,
Lurks in the cracks of the wilderness.
In its eyes reflects the prey's fear,
Life collapses in an instant.
Each leap of the gazelle
Is a struggle for survival.
Under the baobab tree, the water source pulsates,
Ants carry crumbs of food.
The vulture's shadow glides over the dry riverbed,
They seem like sentinels on night watch.
Between bones and new life,
All life and death have their rhythm.
The silent bloodline surges in the night,
Mane and fangs in the starlight
Continue this battle of spirit and flesh.
When the first light of dawn breaks, and the cold dew cleans the mottled battlefield,
The quiver of life boils again.
